BARBER MANUFACTURING CO., INC.

Rigid Bar Drop-In Construction

Versatility. Customization. Efficiency.
The Rigid Bar Drop-In Construction unit from Barber Manufacturing Co. combines precision engineering with unmatched flexibility, delivering a superior seating foundation for virtually any frame or furniture design.

Single-cone springs are securely clinched to roll-formed steel channel bars, creating a robust unit that strengthens your frame when the bars are screwed or nailed in place.

Because the steel bars carry the load, side-to-side supporting rods are eliminated entirely — allowing coil springs to be positioned wherever needed for optimal seating. This gives the Rigid Bar Drop-In Construction exceptional flexibility in size and shape, making it adaptable to nearly any frame configuration, from serpentine front to pie sectional.

An additional feature of the Rigid Bar Drop-In Construction is the optional “Soft Edge,” or formed-up front. This formed-up Soft Edge provides greater support to the front of the unit while helping to extend the life of the cushion — a thoughtful detail that protects your investment over time.

No two pieces of furniture are alike, and our construction reflects that. The size, height, diameter, wire gauge, and spacing of every spring are custom-made for each individual piece of furniture, with seating height, cushion depth, and upholstery material all taken into consideration. Every spring is heat-tempered after forming to ensure a lifetime of consistent comfort, and the springs used in our fine furniture carry a lifetime warranty.

The spring unit and seat cushion work together as a marriage of comfort. The density of the foam and the ride depth of the spring are carefully matched to deliver a perfect seating experience. Though unseen, no expense is spared on the springs inside — because our commitment to quality extends to every component, visible or not.

Installation is fast and simple — set the unit in place within the frame, secure the bars, and you’re ready for the next one. The Rigid Bar Drop-In Construction is custom-designed to fit any frame or piece of furniture, and in many cases fits directly into a manufacturer’s existing frame, potentially reducing the amount of wood needed in frame construction for meaningful cost savings.

Available in full-size or modular units, the Rigid Bar Drop-In Construction offers the same level of customization as our Rigid Bar Seat Strip — with the added ease of installation that only this system can provide

CONSTRUCTION
